Right now, our United States Code (USC) would take up fifty-five feet of shelf space and contains over 22 million words. The American Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) contains over 475 million words. Obamacare regulations contain over 11,588,500 words. How can any person or business possibly navigate such a bureaucratic mess?
This video is a short but impactful illustration of the growth of federal regulations in the last 65 years.
It has become impossible, divorcing the average citizen from the government. This is an untenable situation that strangles entrepreneurship, drives up the cost of compliance, increases barriers to market entry, and benefits only those who hold the keys to the bureaucracy.
We must drastically reduce this burden on every individual, on businesses, and on our overall economy.
If you send me to Washington, I will advocate for, and vote in support of, the Regulations From the Executive in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act.
The REINS Act would require any executive branch rule or regulation with an annual economic impact of $100 million or more to be approved by Congress.
We’ve lost control of the federal government and it’s time to take it back.
