Iraq

Iraq_Photo.jpgWhen I joined the Army fourteen years ago, I did so for idealistic reasons. Looking back, I see the product of my life's work having been given away for someone else's political benefit. For Ed Perlmutter's political benefit. I see those same streets where I used to patrol with other Soldiers, good men, now controlled by ISIS. I think of those good men I saw die there and now recognize that they died in vain.

President George W. Bush may have ordered the invasion of Iraq based on circular reporting, presumptive conclusions, and willful delusion....but at least he never betrayed us.

Even during the early years of the wars when the prosecution was ineffective at best and was a failure at worst, I firmly believed that President Bush was personally invested in our mission and well-being.

On the other hand, President Obama and Ed Perlmutter gave away that which wasn't theirs to give. In doing so, they rendered all of our efforts, sweat, and blood a sacrifice without purpose and made the world more dangerous as a consequence.

President Obama and Ed Perlmutter gave away our victories in Iraq for their domestic political benefit. This betrayal was not accidental. It was a concerted effort by Democrats to reap as much as could be gained using our sacrifice as their political capital.

As far as I have experienced, the liberal foreign policy establishment has betrayed the American people at every turn. This administration betrayed all those who served in Iraq. Why then should our allies abroad expect to be treated any differently?
