The Cost of the Federal Government

The federal debt now exceeds $19.522 Trillion and it is growing by the minute.

As of today, our legacy to each of our children is $260,000 worth of debt that they will never be able to pay off and will significantly diminish their opportunities to realize the American Dream.

My opponent, Rep. Ed Perlmutter, is the problem. He voted for the Stimulus, the TARP bailout, the Auto bailout, and every other piece of legislation that has increased the national debt from $8.673 Trillion on the day he took office to fiscal catastrophe that it is today.

He should be ashamed of himself. Many others should be ashamed as well. They lack the courage to stand in front of the voters and tell them the true cost of the government we have.

We have a government that we can’t afford and Washington is piling debt on the backs of our children to pay for it.

They’re passing the bill to my children and yours for their own political benefit.

Send me to Washington and I will fight to change this.

If elected, I promise I will fight for four things starting on day one:

  1. A hiring freeze for all federal, non-security related personnel.
  2. A bill mandating a management and financial audit of the entire federal government, similar in structure to President Reagan’s Grace Commission.
  3. A Balanced Budget Amendment.
  4. A bill requiring the federal government to move to zero-based budgeting.

We do not have to settle for the burdensome government that we have. We can and must do better. Our children deserve it.
